GOD IS SO GOOD!

There is so much happening that it is hard to know where to start. So, we will start out by saying that God is so good. Great is His faithfulness!! (Lamentations 3:22-23)

We were blessed with enough donations to purchase our first vehicle. We needed something that could help us transport supplies AND if possible our mission teams that are coming to serve. Our prayers were answered when one of our staff found a connection to a safari vehicle that we could afford. This is perfect for what we need! It can handle rough roads, transport the needed supplies AND transport mission teams and children. THANK YOU LORD!! And THANK YOU to all who gave to make this possible. We hope that many of you will now come and join us in Kenya and have the opportunity to ride in our vehicle.

Our 7th grade is now considered Jr Secondary in Kenya. Special requirements were needed to make this an acceptable Jr Secondary classroom plus more for their needed classes. We have met the requirements and are excited to say that we have 40 students enrolled in that class. Two weeks ago, a school in a neighboring community decided they cannot manage Jr Secondary at this time and have requested we take all their Jr Secondary students. We have opened the door for the additional 22 students, which means we will break our 7th grade into 2 classes. We might need to hire a few more teachers, but God is good and we have had teachers requesting to come and teach at our schools. We only hire the best and score them on performance.

Jr Secondary students

This influx and the demand for us to take in more boarding students has greatly affected our building plans for this year. We hope you can help us with any size donation.

  1. Build a new High School/Jr Secondary dormitory for the boys.
  2. Build our shop/canteen for New Beginnings and the community.
  3. Build a playground for our lower elementary students.
  4. Build a new primary girls' dormitory.
  5. Build a new high school dormitory.
  6. Build a staff house for our male staff.

We needed to quickly build a new Jr Secondary girls dormitory to meet the demand of students requesting to join our school and live at New Beginnings in February. This dormitory made space for the new girls that we admitted and those who will be admitted next semester. We are quickly filling that dormitory.

We now need a new dormitory for our Jr Secondary and High School boys. We have the space all planned out and even leveled for this dormitory. The cost for the dormitory is $12,000. This is the first building project for 2023. If you can help us build for their future in any way, please consider a donation towards this goal.

Because of the demand for more boarding students, we also hope to build a new Primary girls' dormitory AND build another High School girls' dormitory.

In addition, we have a goal of building a small shop to sell items to the community. This will become a  way for New Beginnings to become more self-sustaining. This shop will be at our gate with a window outside the gate to serve the community and another window for staff to make purchases from inside New Beginnings. Both will have seating areas for people to make a purchase of a soda and sit and chat while they enjoy their refreshments.

Gloria, our new-to-us vehicle
Thank you to our generous donors and Glory to GOD!

PRAISE GOD!!
New Beginnings now has its first vehicle. We are so THANKFUL and grateful to all who gave to make this possible. We were able to get a safari vehicle that can be used to transport teams, children, AND supplies. God is so good!!! We give HIM all the glory!

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Our Summer Mission team is preparing to travel to New Beginnings, and now is the time to look forward to our Christmas in July celebration!

As our school continues to grow, we have found we no longer have room to bring bags of gifts for the children from the United States BUT we will be collecting letters/photos for your sponsored children as well as monetary donations to purchase gifts in Kenya.

Our goal is to raise $25 per sponsored child to purchase a new play uniform/track suit for each child, plus some of their favorite candies. Please send letters/photos to our headquarters - we need to receive them by July 1st in order to meet our packing date, and we will accept monetary donations through July 31st.

PRAYER PARTNERS

Please continue your prayers for our ministry to the orphans of Kenya. If you or your church are not currently on our Prayer Warriors list, contact us so that we can be sure to add you. We have weekly prayer requests going out.

We would also love to meet with you for a time of fellowship and prayer. We would be honored to come to your location, whether it is at your home or church, to pray for the needy of Kenya. These are just very blessed times and we appreciate them so much. Let us know if you would like to schedule a gathering!

MISSION EXPEDITION

Our July/Aug Mission is FULL! Training is ongoing and the team is excited to serve at New Beginnings. We Thank God for making this possible! Please pray for this team as they plan and prepare.

We are accepting applications for the January team. If you are interested, visit our Mission Trip page to apply. If you have questions feel free to ASK. We want to do all we can to help you get on the mission field to remote Africa.

Spend your days immersed in the culture and lives of the children who call New Beginnings Children's Center HOME.

Show the love of Jesus to a remote community through home visits to their modest mud houses while taking supplies to the poorest widows. Spend time with the children doing Bible School, Bible studies, and Storybook time. Enjoy their cultural songs and dances. End your trip with an awesome safari to the world-famous Masai Mara. NEWS FROM NEW BEGINNINGS

School News

Our Jr Secondary, 7th grade class, continues to grow. Looks like a second class will be needed. Our teachers are doing a great job plus our interns are working hard to tutor those who are struggling when school is not in session.

Our goal is to see our schools achieve National level and be THE place to attend school if you are serious about an education.

We will need more dormitories for our students to make this possible. We hope you will join us in building for their future.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT NEWS

We have purchased a vehicle! Glory to God!! We are excited to move forward to our other buildig projects including wiring for electricity and our new girls' dormitory!

PHASE VI: Building for their Future!
Our new building projects unveiled for 2023. You blessed us so much last year and we are excited to see where God moves us this year. With YOUR help we know we can do it.

Our next building project will be one of our small projects. This will be the small store/canteen that we will build at our gate. Our store will serve the community and those living at New Beginnings. This is one of our steps in making New Beginnings more self-sustaining - an important step in our growth. The cost for the construction will be about $3000. Consider a gift today!

Another small project we will be working on is another latrine for our high school. We are required to have the boys' and girls' latrines separated from each other. This will cost us about $1000.

Then we will go right into building one of our new dormitories. The cost for 1 is about $12,000.

Any donation to the building will be greatly appreciated and help us to move forward in changing the lives of these children.

COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Currently, we have more than 20 students in colleges/universities throughout Kenya. Our scholarship program is a great way to invest in advancing a student's education past high school. You can give to help a certain student or donate to help any who are waiting.

Students currently attending on first year scholarships are Emmanuel, Sharon, Newton, and Ian.

Students currently preparing for universities and colleges are Irene Joseph, Dave Okoth, Dickson Omondi, Kijana, Phenny, Linet Achieng, Tyson Juma, Pamela, Norah Achieng, Irene Atieno, Anjeline Auma, Papa John, and Austine.

Recently the government slashed some of the higher education funding for many students and we are still waiting to see how this will affect many of our students. Prayers are needed that if they cut something, they reconsider and choose to support vulnerable children in need.

Next Step Program

Sometimes our high school graduates contact us when they have been out in the world for a little while and find themselves in great need of help to go to the Next Step. Some who finish our program have found jobs or have families that will help them get to the next step, but sometimes our graduates really just need that extra hand-up.

Our Next Step Program was started to help these formerly-sponsored students who come to serve our center as interns so that we can begin to train them and see if they are serious about this decision. Then we help them go on to college/trade school/etc to help them move forward. Those currently in our Next Step Program are Jane and Susan. Felix and Sharon have recently been hired as part of our staff after completing training in different fields.

If you would like to give to help these graduates, your one-time or monthly donation of any size will make it possible. Currently, we have several young adults working toward their goals. If you would like to help them, I know it would be greatly appreciated. Donate here and select 'College/University Scholarship Fund'  or "Next Step Program" to help a young person achieve their goals!

CHILDREN IN NEED

Please share this great need with your family and friends.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of rising food costs, etc, we have made a slight change to our sponsor amount. Currently, the cost to fully sponsor a child is $100 per month. BUT you can be part of the team of sponsors for as little as $25 a month. We will find others who can partner to help each child in need. Don't delay, start TODAY!

Meet Eliver

Eliver is 15 and is in 9th grade. Her family donated land to start New Beginnings. They live in abject poverty and without help, she will not be able to continue in high school. You can help change her life for as little as $25 a month. Visit Eliver's sponsorship page and start TODAY!

Meet Joseph

Joseph is 7 years old. His mother is a widow who struggles to care for her children. Joseph needs 2-$25 sponsors or 1-$50 sponsor. Can you help Joseph?

A child is praying...are you the answer?
100% of all sponsor donations go to help the children.
