What a great start to a new year here on the hill in remote Kenya. Our first team for 2025 has come and gone and left an impact on our hearts. What an amazing time!
We hope many more of you will come and visit us here on the hill for about 10 days and become a witness to what God is doing. You won't regret it!
Our 2024 high school graduates finally got the results from their National Exams. Out of 25 students in the class, 19 qualify to attend a university and the rest qualify for colleges (training schools). We have been celebrating but they are also continuing to work hard.
Our Life Skills class is going strong to help these graduates be able to cope in the world. They are taught how to find and hold a job, how to start a small business, how to budget money, what sort of jobs are best for them, etc.
Those who were in our sponsor program will often take turns coming to work at New Beginnings before they leave for their university/college (our internship program). But many are already using what they have been taught to find other jobs to help them along the way. Our sponsor program runs through the first year of university/college. We help them get into school and help them get the needed forms submitted for govt assistance. We pay their tuition and housing for the first year. This makes it possible for them to get a good start and also encourages them to do what is needed to stand on their own. We have been seeing great success.
Some of our former students are now running successful businesses, teaching in schools, and working in various other fields.
This is all because someone like you cared enough to make a difference. YOU have helped to break the cycle of poverty and that is what we are working hard to achieve.
EVERY child can succeed! Success might look different for each student but every student CAN succeed. And each child that succeeds has a ripple effect within their family.
CHANGE IS HAPPENING!! God is doing miracles every day!! We give Him the glory.
